The picture book competition is part of the NZ Transport Agency’s (NZSTA) Feet first Walk to School Every Week initiative which promotes safe walking in fun and unusual ways. The entry from Room 5, Year 2 - Alien Goes to School - was hailed as a real page turner by the panel of Feet First judges. “The quality of entries was outstanding. So much thought and creativity has gone into the books that were entered,” sand Jennie Gianotti, NZTA Education Manager. Feet First Picture Book Competition |

“The judges commented that the Room 5 took a novel approach to the story, using a visitor from outer space which was very funny. It was also a great new addition to inter-planetary understanding. Well done, Room 5.” The winning and highly commended books are available to view online at www.feetfirst.govt.nz. |
